FAQ

What types of weddings do you perform?

I am happy to perform civil, religious, interfaith, same sex, non-religious, etc. I am willing to work with couples from any background to write the ceremony that fits them best!

What authorization do you have to perform weddings?

I am officially ordained through the Universal Life Church and I am also licensed with the City of New York to perform ceremonies in all five boroughs. I am more than happy to show my credentials.

Where will you perform weddings?

I am willing and able to perform weddings within NYC and in the surrounding area. I will travel pretty much anywhere upon request (fees for this can be discussed.)

Do you perform same sex weddings?

ABSOLUTELY.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes! I am also willing to help if you have any difficulties doing so. You may also customize your vows from my available scripts.

How far in advance of our ceremony should we contact you?

The sooner, the better. Let’s say on average – at least three months advanced notice. This way, there is plenty of time to fine tune your ceremony. Contact me to discuss elopements.

How do we get our license?

If you live in NYC, go here for details. For other areas, check with your city or county clerk for the appropriate paperwork.

Will you hold a rehearsal?

Check with me prior to booking your rehearsal date to ensure availability. I charge $50 for a rehearsal prior to the ceremony (evening before or day of.) The rehearsal will be where you and your bridal party will practice walking in, give your readers an opportunity to practice (especially if there is a microphone,) and will help all participants know where to go and what to do. If you choose not to have a rehearsal, I will briefly tell all ceremony participants what to expect for the ceremony, their cues, etc., but there will be no walkthrough or practice.

Once we agree to work with you, what happens next?

If you decide to have me as your officiant, we will sign a contract and I will ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit. I will also give you a quick questionnaire to fill out that gives me some background information on you. This helps to craft the perfect ceremony!

What will you be wearing?

If you have a special request for my wedding day wardrobe, I will do my best to accommodate you! My standard is a dark suit or dark pants and a button down. I can also wear a robe or a shirt with a clergy collar if that makes you feel more comfortable!
